TASTING
Honey and floral aromas interwoven, dissolved into the liquor, carrying the breath of primeval forest.

Sweet, mellow, gentle and fine, with a strong, inward tea energy and a cool throat feel.
At about 1,200m, roughly 90 years old, from the April 2026 batch. Guafengzhai is soft and inward at its core, with a strong tea energy and a full wild-mountain resonance: honey and floral aromas interwoven, the fragrance lifted yet dissolved in the water, a lasting scent at the bottom of the cup — and, most beguiling of all, the breath of primeval forest. The entry is sweet, mellow, gentle and fine, with hardly any noticeable bitterness — yet behind the softness lies a strong, inward tea energy; a few cups in, the body warms faintly and the sensation is clear. The liquor is a bright gold, full and weighty, the flow fine and smooth as silk; the returning sweetness is quick and lasting, mouth-watering without end, the throat feel deep and cool, and the sweet resonance lingers.

SPECIFICATION

- Type
- Raw Pu-erh · Workshop No.1 series
- Spec
- 500g · batch 2026.04.13
- Region
- Yunnan · Mengla · Yiwu Guafengzhai
- Craft
- Sun-dried: after withering, fixing and rolling, the leaf is dried in sunlight, keeping its activity — to drink now or to age.
- Water temperature
- 90–95°C; batches aged for years can take boiling water directly
- Brewing
- We suggest a 110ml porcelain gaiwan with 5g of leaf, boiling water in and out quickly: pour off at once for the first steeps, then lengthen each infusion. Young tea for freshness, aged tea for longer steeping; it endures many infusions.
