TASTING
An orchid fragrance, quiet and lasting; the cooled cup holds a thoroughly beguiling honey-sugar sweetness.

Sweetness arrives directly and at once; the body is mellow and fine, and it lasts more than twenty infusions.
At about 1,500m, roughly 90 years old, from the April 2022 batch — three years aged, already beginning to transform. Jingmai's character is one word: fragrance — an elegant, quiet, lasting orchid scent, the clearest label that sets it apart from other tea mountains. The dry leaf already carries a distinct orchid note; in the cup, the orchid dissolves straight into the liquor and fills the mouth; finer still is the scent left in the empty cup, which even when cold holds a lasting, rich honey-sugar sweetness. The sweetness is clear and direct, quick and lasting; the liquor is mellow and full, fine and smooth, rich in substance. It endures many infusions, usually more than twenty, and even after a dozen the aroma is still faintly there.

SPECIFICATION

- Type
- Raw Pu-erh · Workshop No.1 series
- Spec
- 500g · batch 2022.04.25
- Region
- Yunnan · Lancang · Jingmai Mountain
- Craft
- Sun-dried: after withering, fixing and rolling, the leaf is dried in sunlight, keeping its activity — to drink now or to age.
- Water temperature
- 90–95°C; batches aged for years can take boiling water directly
- Brewing
- We suggest a 110ml porcelain gaiwan with 5g of leaf, boiling water in and out quickly: pour off at once for the first steeps, then lengthen each infusion. Young tea for freshness, aged tea for longer steeping; it endures many infusions.
