Why go out into the world?
Because the world is vast.
There are cities we have not seen.
Roads we have not walked.
People we have not met.
And a self we have not yet become.
So we choose to set out.
To experience.
To create.
To love.
To fail.
To choose again.
To understand the world, and slowly to understand ourselves.
Mulan’s story, too, begins with a setting out.
But what is most moving about her is never only how far she went.
It is that after a long road, she still knows where she came from.
True distance should not make a person lose themselves.
It should make us understand more clearly:
What is worth keeping. What is worth treasuring. What is one’s own choice.
What is the place one truly wants to return to.
So we made a tea from the East.
Tea is quiet.
It does not hurry you.
Water falls. Leaves open. Sit down.
The world is still vast.
But in the time of a cup of tea, we can hear ourselves again.
Perhaps returning does not mean going back to the same place.
It can mean coming back to the heart.
Back to the relations between people.
Back to what truly matters in life.
Back to a table.
A cup.
A cup of tea.
We offer this cup of tea to everyone walking their own path.
You may go very far.
To see the world.
To become the person you want to be.
And when you are willing to stop,
there is a cup of tea here.
Go far. Return to yourself.

GO FAR. RETURN TO YOURSELF.
