- Aroma
- The dry leaf is a sweet floral-fruit fragrance; once opened it rises bright and high, the most "floral" of black teas. Unlike Jinjunmei, which is all honey, it has layers: fruit in the first infusion, flowers in the third, and after five the flowers are still there.
- Taste

Lapsang Souchong comes from Tongmu Pass, the source of the world's black tea. "Purple Rose" is its high-aroma line — bright floral-fruit notes, an orange-bright liquor, sweet and smooth. A modern, unsmoked craft lets the freshness of the terroir speak first.
OUR CHOICE
Why we chose this one
Tongmu Pass is the source of the world's black tea. Lapsang Souchong was invented here, carried to Europe, and shaped the drinking history of the whole world. "Purple Rose" is not the traditional smoked Souchong but a modern take on Tongmu's native cultivar — the smoke is set aside so the floral notes of the terroir come out first. We chose it because it keeps the weight of Lapsang Souchong yet carries a fresh floral-fruit fragrance, doing justice to this landscape.
