TASTING
Clear and high, a pure dried-fruit note with honeyed sweetness, settled and unshowy.

Light bitterness dissolving fast, sweetness direct, the liquor viscous and full-bodied, a cool finish in the throat.
Around 1,700m above sea level, roughly 300-year-old trees, an April 2026 spring batch. Banpen's style is reserved, nimble, firm and soft at once—between Laobanzhang and Hekai: the aroma clear and high, elegant with a dried-fruit note and honeyed sweetness, settled and unshowy. On entry the bitterness is light and the astringency faint, less fierce than Laobanzhang, yet it dissolves quickly; sweetness shows directly, the liquor viscous and full with a strong gelatinous body. Salivation is swift and lasting, the returning sweetness spreading from under the tongue across the whole mouth; the qi is strong yet reserved and steady, the sensation clear though without sweat. The high-mountain note goes straight to the throat, the throat-feel cool and at ease, with no dryness, the aftertaste long.
