Yuman Pair
One opens, one draws in. One leaves space, one fills to the brim. 52.0mm is the sentiment; 131.4mm the distance — 520 and 1314, hidden in the measure between two cups. High-white porcelain, fired at 1300℃, it endures heat and cold and understands warmth. In pairs, as a gift.
Proportion, the feel in the hand, and a clean pour and stop — these are all we ask of tea ware. It makes no noise; set on the table, it simply passes each steep quietly into your hand.
A warm, smooth glaze and a balanced form; the rim draws inward to gather the aroma.
A moderate weight with a steady centre; the rim of the gaiwan flares so the pour stays cool to the touch; the pair invites small, unhurried sips, made for every day.
Suited to Wuyi rock tea, Lapsang Souchong and every other kind of brewing; as a gift, it completes a tea set together with the boxed teas.
