MULAN TEA STORY · Mellow, Crisp and Lingering Longjing

Mellow and full at first, bright and crisp at the middle, with a long throat-resonance at the finish.

Picked in the middle of the pre-Qingming window, when the buds have stored up enough nourishment; the pan-firing temperature is finely judged for a balance of mellow and crisp. Mellow and full at first, bright and crisp at the middle, chestnut and bean aromas interwoven—the next step for seasoned tea drinkers.

SPECIFICATION

MULAN TEA STORY Longjing hand-sealed tin
Type
Green tea · Workshop series No.2
Spec
Pre-Qingming · Hangzhou growing area
Origin
Zhejiang · Hangzhou
Craft
Traditional pan-firing; flat and upright, a tender green, the high heat sealing in the pre-Qingming freshness.
Water temperature
85–90°C; never pour boiling water straight onto the tender buds.
Brewing
A glass or a white porcelain gaiwan, with 3g of leaf. Use 85–90°C water (boil, then leave the lid off for about a minute). Water first, then the tea; let the buds unfurl, drink after a minute or two, and top up when a third remains—fresh and lively, never bitter.

CARE

A pre-Qingming spring tea, shipped in sealed tins. Store away from light and moisture; once opened, reseal and refrigerate, and drink it soon to keep the freshness intact.
