Mulan Tea is not a kind of tea.
It is not a new botanical variety, nor does it seek to replace Longjing, black tea, white tea, or any other long-established name.
“Mulan Tea” is how MULAN TEA STORY® chooses, judges and expresses a cup of tea.
We believe a tea truly worth keeping should first know where it comes from.
Land, climate, water and soil, and the conditions of growth together mark the beginning of a single leaf. Origin is not a name printed on a package; it is the first character of a cup of tea.
But good land alone is not enough. Tea is bound to time.
The same land shows a different state in a different season, in different weather, within a different picking window. When to pick, how far to pick, when to wait — all of it is part of a cup of tea.
So we care about five things.
ORIGIN We ask first where a tea truly comes from.
SEASON We care whether it appears at the right time.
CRAFT Good material still needs human experience, judgement and measure.
TASTE A cup of tea should be clear, clean, and carry a flavour worth remembering.
CHARACTER A tea truly worth keeping is not merely “correct”; it should have a character of its own.
This is also why —
Not every tea becomes a Mulan tea.
We do not try to own every tea, nor do we wish to fill the shelves with more products.
Choice itself is part of the brand.
What we look for are the works that have a place of origin, that have time, that have craft, and that have a character of their own.
It may be a Longjing, or it may come from another land, another season. The names differ, but before they enter
MULAN TEA STORY® they must all answer the same question:
Is it worth being chosen?
When the answer is yes,
it becomes a Mulan tea.
MULAN TEA STORY®
SELECTED TO BECOME MULAN.
